In June, I did a giveaway called “Reminisce on Love” where I asked couples to send me their love stories. This idea stemmed from me sharing my new single, “Our First Kiss” where I am telling the world about how my fiancé and I went from friends to lovers. Something I did for everyone who participated was gifted them with a “Spread Love” t-shirt because that is indeed what they had done by allowing me to share their love stories with my friends and fans on social media.
“Spread Love” is the name of my upcoming album, and I made it a shirt not only for promotion for my music, but so I could make an impact with something as simple as two words. I realize people are busy and although we want change in the world, we often need reminders of what it takes to make those changes. I believe we can all benefit from spreading love to one another. I figured if I put it on a shirt, and get shirts on thousands of bodies, then we’d all be helping each other with this gentle reminder.
I have created shirts in black, white, and “pink” (the color of love) and I created hoodies and baby onesies for the whole family to wear while we are out and about in our communities. My hopes are that when others see this message, they will ask themselves questions like “How can I spread love?” This is what I believe is part of a movement for humanity to embrace itself and come together as one, and that makes you a major key.
